How to Deposit on Stake From Canada (CAD to Crypto)

How to fund Stake from Canada: buy crypto with CAD via Interac, choose a coin and network, and avoid costly deposit mistakes. A beginner-friendly guide.

Stake is a crypto casino

Stake works in cryptocurrency rather than Canadian dollars. You cannot deposit directly with a Canadian debit or credit card in most cases. Instead, Canadians buy crypto with CAD on an exchange and send it to Stake. It sounds technical, but once you have done it once it takes a few minutes.

Step 1: Open a Canadian crypto exchange account

Choose a crypto platform registered with FINTRAC, Canada’s financial intelligence agency, as a money services business. Registered platforms follow Canadian rules and support CAD funding.

You will need to verify your identity with government ID, which is normal and required by Canadian law.

Step 2: Fund your exchange in CAD

Most Canadian exchanges let you deposit CAD with Interac e-Transfer, which usually arrives quickly. Some also support bank wire or debit cards. Interac is typically the cheapest and simplest option.

Step 3: Pick a coin

Stake supports many coins. Popular choices for Canadians:

  • Litecoin (LTC): fast and cheap, great for small deposits.
  • USDT or USDC: stablecoins pegged to the US dollar, so your balance does not swing with crypto prices.
  • Solana (SOL): very fast with low fees.
  • Bitcoin (BTC): widely available, but network fees can be higher.
  • Ethereum (ETH): popular, though fees vary with network demand.

Step 4: Copy your Stake deposit address

On Stake, open Wallet and choose Deposit. Pick the same coin you bought, then select the network. Copy the deposit address shown. Some coins, like USDT, exist on several networks — the network on Stake must match the network you send on.

Step 5: Send the crypto

On your exchange, choose Withdraw or Send, paste your Stake deposit address, select the matching network and confirm. Many exchanges let you whitelist addresses for extra safety.

Most deposits arrive within minutes, depending on the coin. Once confirmed, the funds appear in your Stake balance and you can activate your 200% bonus from code SHIMA.

Avoiding common deposit mistakes

A few mistakes cause most deposit problems:

  • Wrong network: sending a coin on a network Stake does not support for that address can mean lost funds.
  • Wrong coin: never send one coin to an address for a different coin.
  • Missing memo or tag: some coins require one — always copy it if shown.
  • Sending from a non-personal wallet: use an exchange account or wallet in your own name.

Viewing your balance in CAD

In Stake settings you can choose to display balances in CAD. Your funds are still held in crypto, but you can see the dollar value at a glance, which makes budgeting much easier.
